12.12.2011 - New smarti Electra update for standalone operation! 
The Electra units just received a new firmware update. These high quality access control units provide robust, reliable performance through proximity card and PIN identification technology for a wide range of applications within access control, time & attendance and building automation. With the newest firmware update they can now also work in standalone mode, which means that they can have the event database stored on their internal storage. The thing that remained unchanged is the price. So you get more for less costs.
• The Electra is meant for indoor use, it is in−wall or on−wall mountable. The unit is fan−less for quiet operation.
• The unit is equipped with a 5,7’’ color touch screen, integrated RFID reader, microphone, speakers, built−in storage and internal memory.

We have released a new smarti fingerprint and proximity card reader which fully integrates fingerprint and proximity card technology. The very compact design makes it suitable for installation on a door frame. It has TCP/IP and standard Wiegand output to connect seamlessly with access controllers. It can easily update the existing card readers for higher security level of fingerprint and card.

You will find it in the main menu on the left side of the web page Under this section you will find n References - Case Studies from around the world and you will also find all of the awards that smarti has received. For now we added five new case studies from different industries (medical, banking, penal and gemology) and we will soon be adding more. So keep watching this space for an update.

smarti TCP/IP relay box can be used to control, electronic locks, alarms, push buttons, sensors and other electronic devices through a secure protocol using LAN or WIFI.
It is equipped with 16 12A relays (to control: locks, lights, dimmers, blinds, alarms, HVAC, etc.), 16 digital inputs (to get inputs from: digital sensors like motion, smoke gas, light, push buttons, various switches, alarms, etc.) and with 4 analogue inputs (to get inputs from: analogue sensors like temperature, light, water leakage, etc.).

The Slovenian Innovation Forum was opened yesterday on December 2nd by the Slovenian Prime Minister Mr. Borut Pahor. Among 55 best innovations that were chosen to be exhibited on the Forum by the National Evaluation Committee for innovation is also the smarti Felix unit.

24.09.2010 - smarti GSM responderWe have created a new external application for smarti called GSM Responder. If you connect a GSM module to the smarti system, you will be able to send commands to the smarti system and receive information from the system through text messages (SMS). This basically means that smarti can now use an external GSM module to send you an SMS (for example: informing you that a window has been opened) and that you can send an SMS to smarti which tells it to turn off all the lights in your offices.

We have been preparing this one for a long time. It was just so much that we wanted to add. The update is now available for download.
The main addition in this update is a completely new and redesigned set of menus for home/building automation and the client application to set them up. It is basically a new module designed for easier access to automation tasks. It supports a user defined navigation menu. The building floor plans can be used as background images and buttons can be dynamically positioned. It includes various gadgets and a more powerful automated task module.
Pre-calculated attendance reports. We have created new, monthly and summary attendance reports that can use pre-calculated data, which can be scheduled to be calculated daily using the smartiScheduler. The new reports are display much faster, compared to the old reports, but do not display changes that were made on the current day.
Attendance reports count the over-midnight presence for the day that the person clocked-in. We have also extended these reports with additional data needed by the time administrators. This makes presence tracking for the administrator easier.
Video messages can now be saved to and accessed from the database. Easier setup if units cannot share files.
You can now define how many additional biometric samples will be recorded each time during self enrollment (if the number of samples already recorded is greater than the minimum required).
There are of course many other minor improvements but we will not go into details about them in this article.

On June 16th in Kranj smarti received another Award. This time it was the bronze award for innovation from the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce. The awarded model was the smarti Felix.
Felix was developed with the home / condominium owner in mind who was interested in using automated functions to make their lives easier and more efficient. A video door phone, an IP phone, a remote control, an 8-inch wide touch screen display for user interaction; it has an attractive design, that adds to rather than detracts from the look of the home. With its modern design, Felix can fit well into any living room or any high-tech conference room and contribute to the image of a company.
The software package (the backbone of our system) still contains all functionality access control, time and attendance as well as home and building automation.

We have been busy this few months not only did we have to get everything ready for the upcoming IFSEC 2010 exhibition, but we also redesigned our Video intercom and IP phone application and added SIP protocol support to it. So if you have your own SIP PBX or an account on a SIP PBX, you can connect your smarti unit to it and use it to you make and forward calls using SIP.

15.03.2010 - Update 7.8.2 availableUpdate 7.8.2 is now available for download. So what is new in this update?
You can now define functions as conditional or dependant. Dependant functions will only be executed if selected conditional functions are active.
We changed the way in which the access schedules are defined. Up to now the access schedule was defined by selecting intervals which were rounded up to 30 minutes. Now you can select an interval and than by right clicking in it you can type in the exact time of start and end of the access interval, so the access intervals can now be rounded up to 1 minute.
There are many more minor improvements to the software. Please download the update from our partners section.

05.05.2009 - smarti® ChronicleWe have prepared a special edition of the smarti newsletter, called smarti® Chronicle, aspecally for you. Well it is more a magazine than just a newsletter. In it you will find a lot of interesting information about the future of biometrics and smarti®. You will find an article about the new ELECTRA unit, an article about how we are finding dealers all over the world, what the interaction with them is and what are their main concerns and questions. 21.11.2008 - smarti DIADEM receives the Highly Commended Product AwardSome 150 dinner guests at the Sectech dinner banquette in Copenhagen on the 19th of November witnessed the prize ceremony when the winners of the prestigious Detektor International Awards 2008 were announced. 15.10.2008 - smarti® DIADEM has been nominated for a Scandinavian international awardAt the recent Skydd-exhibition in Stockholm, the nominees for the 2008 Detektor International Awards were presented to the banquet dinner audience of over 900 professionals from the security industry.

18.07.2008 - smarti® to be featured in the hit TV series Primeval 3
The highly respected U.K. television production company Impossible Pictures, which is currently in production on the third series of Primeval 3, has asked us if they can use the smarti® DIADEM unit in their series. Their characters in the series have had trouble in the past with the security of their head office so later in the series they have decided to upgrade their security system.
Primeval is a futuristic, high tech series about a scientific team and their support teams who locate 'anomalies' or holes that appear between two different time zones. Through these holes creatures from either the past or the future come through and it is the heroes job to locate them and get them back into their own worlds before the 'anomaly' closes.
The lead characters run their team from a highly advanced technological centre called The ARC. This is the hypercentre of the series and is equipped with state of the art equipment and appears in every episode. This is where the heroes are first aware of when the 'anomalies' appear and it is also where they continue to study them and make break through discoveries and continue to build new equipment in their laboratory.
It is for the ARC that the Impossible Pictures needed a new impressive security system and the new smarti® DIADEM unit was just what they were looking for.

28.05.2008 - Update v6.0.0 availableA new smarti update is now available for download from our partner’s pages. We added support for recognition with the PIN code in conjunction with biometric samples, the working hours summary can now be displayed on the screen after a person is identified. We also added multi layer buttons (basically you can now define buttons which if pressed cover the screen with a new menu which can contain multiple other buttons defined by the user) and some other enhancements.

18.12.2007 - New smarti phone almost finishedWe are in the final stages of developing a totally new version of the smarti phone application, which is used for IP/Video phone and Video intercom. The new application uses Skype controls. In addition to other smarti phone users you will be able to call other Skype users, send short text massages (SMS) call mobile and stationary phones, forward calls etc. We are now testing the application and we still need to redesign the GUI but we hope that it will be ready for release soon.

17.10.2007 - Prototypes of the new unitWe are testing the prototypes for the new smarti unit. If the prototypes do OK in the tests we will have the new units ready in a week or two. We are not going to reveal the name of the new unit yet. For now all that we will reveal about the new unit is that it has an IR light and an IR CCTV camera inbuilt for face recognition. This feature really heightens the reliability and the security level of face recognition.

The smarti v5.0 update includes the updated help system, a few optimizations of the system and a new external application called External input responder. 15.06.2007 - A new certification program for our partnersWe have decided that it is time to implement a certification program for our partners/distributors. We will have three levels of certificates the first one is the “certified smarti® expert” certificate which will be awarded to persons which complete our smarti® training process. This certificate is awarded to a person not a company and because smarti® is constantly updated it will have to be renewed each year. All our distributors will from now on be required to have at least one certified smarti® expert among their employees. This way we will be able to make sure that our distributors know everything about the smarti® there is to know, thus the end users will benefit from their knowledge and be able to take full advantage of all the smarti® features. The next two certificate levels will be awarded to our business partners who will accumulate a lot of experience with installations of the smarti® system and who will help us with the development of the smarti® system.

16.03.2007 - European security meetings in ParisOn the 14th and 15th of March the European Security Meetings (ESM 2007) was held in Paris – France. ESM brings together security specialists and suppliers of solutions and equipment aimed at security and protection.
As part of the convention new technologies, products and innovations from a few selected companies were presented in one to one meetings. Among the presented products was also smarti® which convinced many large and important French companies like Renault, Axa, Societe Generale, ETDE...

12.03.2007 - Revised installation guideBecause of all the new features in the last few updates we had to revise and update the installation guide. There is now only one installation guide for all three smarti® models. We have also included a quick use guide, which includes all that a first time user needs to know, to start working with the system.

19.02.2007 - Outdoor has been renamed to CastorCastor is the new name for the Outdoor unit. Castor is the second brightest star in the constellation Gemini and one of the brightest stars in the night-time sky. Although it has the Bayer designation "alpha", it is actually fainter than Beta Geminorum (Pollux). Castor and Pollux are the two "heavenly twin" stars that give the constellation Gemini (meaning "twins" in Latin) its name. Actually the name Castor refers specifically to Castor, one of the twin sons of Zeus and Leda.
19.02.2007 - Betria is the new name for the Spot unitThe Spot unit came out second so it is named Betria also know as Beta Trianguli Australis the brightest star in the constellation Triangulum Australe. It is approximately 40.1 light years from Earth.
19.02.2007 - Indoor has been renamed to AlcorThe Indoor unit is now named Alcor after a star which is forever tied with its naked eye double the star Mizar in the tail of Ursa Major. They are hardly ever spoken of unless as "Mizar and Alcor," or the horse and the rider.
15.02.2007 - New unit names will be reveald shortly!Since we are planning to broaden our smarti® units range we have decided to change the names of the existing and of new smarti® units. The units will from now on be named after stars alphabetically in the other they come out! The new names for Outdoor, Indoor an Spot will be revealed in the next few days.

Among other updates it will include the Italian GUI and compact monthly and summary reports for time & attendance with comprehensive settings for absences. The first newsletter with the new look will be out in the middle of December.
