Europena security meetings in Paris

On the 14th and 15th of March the European Security Meetings (ESM 2007) was held in Paris – France. ESM brings together security specialists and suppliers of solutions and equipment aimed at security and protection. As part of the convention new technologies, products and innovations from a few selected companies were presented in one to one meetings. Among the presented products was also smarti® which convinced many large and important French companies like Renault, Axa, Societe Generale, ETDE etc.

Revised installation guide

Because of all the new features in the last few updates we had to revise and update the installation guide. There is now only one installation guide for all three smarti® models. We have also included a quick use guide which includes all that a first time user needs to know, to start working with the system.

For all those who are registered at our partner pages the new installation guide is already available for download.

With smarti®, a multimodal biometric access control and presence tracking solution, you can gain full control over premises access and fully meet all demands for an effective enforcement of security standards and recommendations in the most reliable and economic way.

  • Automate entry points.
  • Use additional ID readers (fingerprint readers, palm scanners, iris scanners…) to heighten the security and reliability level.
  • Prevent abuse, unauthorized and unsupervised access.
  • Allow access to sensitive information and restricted areas only to authorized individuals.
  • Track all individuals who are currently present in the facility.
  • Assign access privileges and time restrained schedules to users.
  • Easy tracking and listing of a person’s attendances and absences.
  • Allocate different entry points to different users and visitors.
  • Control and manage the Alarm systems.
  • Control lighting on the entire premises.

Case study: smarti® guards sensitive data

An IT company which does a lot of work with the government implemented a biometric access control system for their server room where sensitive and confidential government data is stored. Because of data security issues only 15 certified and verified individuals have access to the server room and their presence in the room is always tracked. The access control system is also connected to the alarm system and to the fire alarm system.

To achieve a higher level of reliability and security the company wanted to use more then one biometric identifier to establish a person’s identity. They needed a system which would also track when a person entered the room and when this person left the room. This is why they decided to use the smarti® system supported by fingerprint readers.
