In front of you is the April newsletter. Quite a lot has happened since the last newsletter. First, we have great news; smarti has been nominated for the third time in a row at the IFSEC 2008 Awards in the best new access control product category. We have also redesigned our web page, and have created a new smarti® video tutorial.

smarti® is an IFSEC Awards Finalist for the third time in a row!
smarti®, a complete multi-modal biometric access control and time& attendance solution, has been short-listed for the IFSEC Security Industry Awards in the “best new access control product” category for the third successive year. Last year the CASTOR unit was among the six finalists, the year before the ALCOR unit was among the finalists. This year the BSIA (British Security Industry Association) has short listed the new smarti® DIADEM unit among the six best new access control products for the year 2008. We are very proud of this nomination and the recognition of smarti as a leader in its field.
The new DIADEM unit is fan-less for quiet operation. It has an aluminium front casing which is IP 65 compliant and is meant for indoor and outdoor use. It is in-wall or on-wall mountable. The inbuilt IR CCTV camera and IR LED lights provide highly reliable identification in all lighting conditions. The unit is also equipped with an 8" colour touch screen, motion detector, microphone, speakers, Intel Centrino processor, built in storage and internal memory. The integrated communication ports and relay I/O controller can be used to control lights, electronic locks, alarms, sensors and other electrical devices.
New web page
We have redesigned our web page. The design is now more in line with our new brochures and catalogues. The page is now more end user oriented with information about the benefits and features of the smarti system. One of the goals was also to make the page easier to navigate and we think that we have achieved this.
IFSEC 2008
The IFSEC 2008 is coming up fast. Please visit us in Birmingham, UK between the 12th and the 15th of May at our usual location (stand 2084, hall 6).
New video tutorial
We have created a new smarti® video tutorial. The old one was outdated and needed an overhaul so we decided to start completely from scratch. We have split the tutorial in multiple chapters, each about 2 to 4 minutes long. This makes the tutorial more user friendly and it makes finding the information you need easier. The tutorial will be shipped with every new smarti unit and it will soon be available online on our partner’s pages.
