SEA Awards finals in London

After winning at the IFSEC 2009 Security Industry Awards and receiving the award for innovation from the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce the new smarti® ELECTRA unit has now been shortlisted as a finalist in the Security Innovation of the year category at the Security Excellence Awards 2009.

The Security Excellence Awards is run by United Business Media Ltd and supported primarily by info4security, SMT Online and Security Installer magazine. This year’s Security Excellence Awards will mark the 11th year of consistently acknowledging and rewarding the very best operators, consultancies and people within the security industry. The ultimate winners of the Security Excellence Awards 2009 will be announced at a high profile awards ceremony to be held at the London Hilton, Park Lane, on the evening of Thursday 22 October. We hope to see you there!

ELECTRA, the new smarti® unit, combines multimodal biometric access control based on facial and voice recognition with RFID and a myriad of other features that make it an easy choice for users across a wide range of categories. An indoor unit, ELECTRA can be in wall or on wall mounted and it has an IP-65 compliant front panel. Easy user interaction is made possible by the use of a 5.7'' color touch screen. It does not require a fan for cooling and is thus quiet to operate. It has a built-in camera, speakers, microphone, RFID reader, internal memory and storage. The TCP/IP connector supports power over Ethernet. The integrated communication ports and relay I/O controller can be used to control lights, electronic locks, alarms, sensors etc. The unit can be integrated into existing systems and networked with other ELECTRA units, other smarti® models and other electronic devices via TCP/IP into a flexible access control system.

Benefits for developers of condominium projects part I

The use of the smarti® system offers many potential benefits for the Condominium development projects which are detailed below:

Revenue from advertisements

Each Smarti unit can display advertisements. For example, at the lift lobby area (both for the office tower and the condominium), advertisements can be played (audio and video). Within each unit, video advertisement can be displayed. As well as providing advertising space for the shops and restaurants in the Mall, this would also provide an attractive well defined audience for other advertisers such as airlines, banks etc. The revenue from advertising could be considerable.

Directory List for shops in Mall

Shops and restaurants in the Mall could be charged a fee to be listed in a directory available to all the apartments. For example, a resident could be looking for an item and can get a list of the shops that might sell such items.
