Dear readers,

Here is the first newsletter for the year 2010. We hope that you had a great New Year’s party and that the year 2010 will be really successful for you. Here in Slovenia we have a proper winter with lots of snow. When I look out of my window everything is white which is great for skiing but not so great when you need to walk somewhere in the city or park your car. We finished our series of articles about benefits for the developers of condominium projects last month but we will start with a new series about benefits for condominium owners in this month's newsletter.

New smarti® update being tested

It has been about a month since we released the 7.6.0 update and in this time we have been testing and preparing a new smarti update.

Mostly the new update is made up of small improvements but the main change will be in the way the user can handle and select buttons and functions in the administrative part of the software. We wanted to make this aspect easier and more user friendly. The buttons and functions will be grouped into groups in all of the menus where you can select them and attach them to persons, groups, divisions, units, buttons etc. This will make administration and selection of functions/buttons much easier.

The new version will also make it easier for the user to set the order in which the functions are executed and the delay time between execution of the functions from the main application. We will inform you when the new update is ready on our web page in the news section.

 

Benefits for the condominium owners part I

The use of the smarti® system offers many potential benefits for the Condominium development projects which are detailed below:

Advanced AV Intercom

The smarti® unit works as a video intercom allowing the unit owners to see and communicated with visitors. If the owner is not at home, the visitor can leave a video message. Alternatively, the smarti® can dial the owner’s mobile phone allowing the owner to talk to the visitor by phone.

Alarm System

The smarti® unit can provide a cheap yet effect alarm system. Passive Infra–red motion detectors can be installed in the apartment. If motion is detected the smarti® can automatically and silently advise the concierge and/or the owner via mobile phone, email and/or SMS.

Viewing of CCTV camera feeds

The smarti® unit can be connected to certain IP cameras within the building CCTV system. For example, this would allow families to see/monitor their children at swimming pools or other common areas within the complex, monitor their garage etc.
