Editorial

Dear readers,

Great news smarti® has again been nominated for the IFSEC Security Industry Awards; this is the fifth time in a row! This month's newsletter is all about IFSEC you will be able to read about the awards, where to find our stand and what we are planning for the exhibition. So please enjoy reading the newsletter.

Best regards,

Your smarti® team

smarti® is an IFSEC finalist for the 5th consecutive time!

With smarti® Electra winning the IFSEC 2009 award in the access control category we were pleasantly surprised to find that smarti® Guardeon is one of the six finalists at the IFSEC Security Industry Awards this year. This makes the fifth year in a row that the smarti family of products has been short listed as one of the best new access control products.

We are planning the official worldwide launch of a new biometric unit for access control, time & attendance and building automation called smarti® Guardeon at IFSEC 2010. The new unit combines multimodal biometric access control based on facial and voice recognition with MIFARE, RFID, slim design, low power consumption and a myriad of other features that makes it an easy choice for user across a wide range of categories.

Guardeon combines the integrated proximity card reader which people are used to, with multimodal biometric face and voice recognition providing higher security and inhibiting system abuse.

smarti® Guardeon is meant for indoor and outdoor use, it is in-wall or on-wall mountable. The unit is fan-less for quiet operation and has an IP65 compliant aluminium front casing. The unit was designed to have low power consumption and a slim profile. It is equipped with an 8" industrial grade sun readable colour LCD display and a resistant touch screen, integrated RFID & MIFARE reader, motion detector, microphone, speakers, Intel Atom processor, solid state disk drive, 1 GB memory and gigabit Ethernet. The built-in adjustable IR CCD camera and 12 IR LED lights provides reliable identification in all lighting conditions. Integrated communication ports and relay I/O controller can be used to control lights, electronic locks, alarms, sensors...

Designed with flexibility in mind, the Guardeon can be used for many applications, but is primarily aimed at the high security access control market.

IFSEC 2010

From the 10th till the 13th of May IFSEC will be held in Birmingham, UK. We are situated in Hall 3A and our stand number is B5. Please visit us.

At IFSCE 2010 we will have a worldwide launch of a new smarti® unit. Here I will only disclose the name of the new unit which is Guardeon and that it has been nominated for the best new access control product at the IFSEC awards. You can read more about the unit in the article about the IFSEC 2010 Awards.

SIP protocol support and new Video intercom and IP phone design

We have been busy this few months not only did we have to get everything ready for the upcoming IFSEC exhibition, but we also redesigned our Video intercom and IP phone application and added SIP protocol support to it. So if you have your own SIP PBX or an account on a SIP PBX, you can connect your smarti unit to it and use it to you make and forward calls using SIP.
